The Advent TAPE

by ASCENDED DEAD

Travis Niemeyer Natural, raw noise, followed by sick, dirty death metal. Afterall, isn't feedback and the slop-noise of band-practice how us more adventurous music aficionados got accustomed to harsh noises to begin with? This, a death/thrash recording, holds the keys beyond the primitive...by being primitive.

xhrl_ Feedback & thrashy Lo-Fi sound are the marks of this death metal. Aesthetically this seems to be the band's intention, adding to the brutality of the delivery. Also, there is a certain emotional connection some old dudes like myself have to recordings done Li-Fi. Now as this is part of Ascended Dead's sound, don't look at them for anything other than dirty, flithy & raunchy old school death metal. Those whose tastes prefer super polished recordings should stay away, as it is relentless! Love it. Favorite track: Mortification of Souls.

about

Cassette Release, Limited to 150 copies.

Following on from their Arcane Malevolence 7", released to critical acclaim by BLOOD HARVEST, San Diego death metal tyrants ASCENDED DEAD unleash a special tape entitled The Advent. A compilation of two sessions intended for splits, the six tracks across The Advent display ASCENDED DEAD in their rawest, bloodiest form. Forever fierce 'n' filthy, ASCENDED DEAD once again unleash maniacal, pitch-black DEATH that nods as much to classic Possessed and Necrovore as it does early Morbid Angel and Sarcofago, and the rehearsal-room quality here makes their careening attack all the more hellish...The Advent indeed. (Nathan T. Birk)

Side A (tracks 1-4) was recorded in Seattle, WA on the final date of last years tour (7/2014), and is a prelude of what's to come.
Side B (tracks 5-6) is Arcane Malevolence preproduction recorded 2/2013.
